Resolved Question: Why is the US Post Office so ridiculously inefficient?

I just got one of those slips in my box to go pick up a package I was expecting at the post office. The carrier never rang my doorbell or anything and it was too big to go in the box. I got there and asked for my package and said they never rang the bell and the lady said they don't deliver to apartments if it doesn't fit in the box ... BUT ... she then said I have to come back after 3pm to get it because it's ON THE TRUCK even though they had no intention of delivering it. So what was the point of driving around all day with packages they don't plan on delivering? I also was watching the tracking on this same package and it was shipped from Tulsa, Oklahoma to Fayetteville, AR. I wish they would just go out of business because I often order stuff that ships through them and there is always some kind of issue. I don't get anything from the Post Office I can't get online or through UPS/Fed Ex. I don't get any mail other than junk. I do all my bills and taxes online. If the post office is lacking money maybe they should stop hauling packages around for many more miles than is necessary. If it would just go out of business I wouldn't have to worry about things I order coming through the post office which is so unbelievable slow and then they give you run around when you just want your stupid package....
