Finally, it seams that Samantha who? is back to stay on the air at the ABC network on Thursday’s. Last weeks episode was aired as scheduled and in the Tulsa area only missed about 8 minutes of the episode due to severe weather announcements. This is good news to all Samantha who? fans, and I am sure that they are all exited about it.

“The amazing racist” 4-9-2009 episode.

The show began as Samantha and her mother were house showing for their new real estate business in order to sell a house. Samantha’s mother Regina kept complaining that Sam is not doing her share of the work as Sam was eating her sandwich, so Samantha decided to do her share. As a new customer, Lindsey and her black husband, were showing interest in the for sale house. Then unintentionally Samantha got herself misunderstood for someone who does not like black people. Samantha tried to explain to them that she did like black people, but the costumers did not believe her and left insulted.

Later at the night club Samantha was talking about it with her best friends Andrea and Dena and she realized that she did not know any black people as her friends. Then Andrea told her that the old and naughty Sam, before her amnesia, once fired a black, white, and 2 oriental guys who were chatting in the copy room. At this point the news on the TV announced that Tony Dane, Andreas new gay boyfriend was spotted by the paparazzo kissing a unknown male companion. Poor Andrea was devastated because she expected that it was over between Tony and her, and there would be no more private planes, parties, and club openings, which all came with dating a pro-basketball player. Seth then showed up trying to cheer Andrea up, at which Andrea kissed him passionately leaving her olive in his mouth, which was funny because the stunned and surprised Seth asked if she wanted her olive back.

Later as Samantha was passing Frank the door man she realized that Frank was black and that he was her friend. When she talked to him about it Frank said that they were not friends and that she did not even know anything about him. At this Samantha decided that she “was not cool with not being friends”, and promised that she was going to become Franks good friend, which surprised Frank. To prove her friendship Sam decided to deliver a pie to Franks house the next day, at which point she was mugged by a black guy in front of Franks house. Frank the doorman was sorry that she was mugged right in front of his house, but told her that he did not tell her to bring him a pie or to try to be friends with him. When the police came Sam saw that even the police were black so she lied to them by saying that the mugger was white, even though he was black, just so she would not heart their feelings. Silly Samantha right, but that is why we love her, because of her funny good nature and friendliness. The next day as Samantha was getting a cab Frank decided to be her friend after all and the happy Samantha gave him a really friendly and funny hug, while saying “oh-you, oh-you”. I thought that that was really funny.

Later Andrea met with Toni Danes people expecting Toni to break up wit her, just to be surprised as they asked her if she would marry Toni Dane. The surprised Andrea was left speechless.

Later Samantha’s mother Regina told Sam that the house showing was canceled and that they were fired by the house selling customer, and 2 additional customers. Regina said that they were fired because Lindsey and her black husband the potential customers at their house showing at the beginning of the show complained to the real-estate firm about her racist remarks. Now Regina wants Samantha to apologize to the interracial couple, who happened to be the owners of the hottest steak-house in town. At this point Sam had a idea about taking her new black friend Frank to the complaining couples steak-house for dinner so she can prove to them that she is not racist. Unfortunately at the dinner with Frank the owner of the restaurant did not believe Samantha and accused Sam of trying to stop them from complaining to the real-estate agency about her racist remarks. Frank had heard all this and acted like he was only a door man and not her real friend, because he thought that Samantha was only using him to make a good impression on the interracial couple restaurant owners. At this point Lindsey the restaurant owner told Samantha that she should be ashamed of herself, and Frank left the restaurant insulted. Sam was left alone and she felt bad about the whole thing.

Later at the night-club Samantha told Dena that she is about to give up on her friendship with Frank the door man, but Dena talked her out of it. Now Andrea showed up announcing to the two that she was engaged to Toni Dane and they were both happy for Andrea. Andrea then announced the good news to the rest of the night-club, at which point Seth asked her “what about the other night” as in their passionate kiss with the olive. Andrea replied that it meant nothing and that she had no feelings for Seth. Although you could tell that Andrea felt something special towards Seth right there. I would not be surprised if Andrea would eventually end up in love with Seth, they seem like they would make a good couple. Seth on the other hand did not believe Andrea that she did not have any feelings for him.

Later Samantha goes to visit Frank to save their friendship, but Frank wants to go back to their relationship the way it was before her accident and her retrograde amnesia when the old naughty Samantha was mean to him like a snake. At this point Sam’s mugger shows up trying to mug her again and our chatty Samantha tells him to leave her alone. Frank notices that the mugger is not white like Samantha said but is black which impressed Frank. Frank now made a funny suggestion to the mugger that he will close his eyes and that the mugger should kidnap Samantha and when someone asked Frank would say that it was a white guy. The mugger also made a funny comment about Samantha only having five dollars in her hand bag but on the other hand having twenty lip sticks. Now Samantha got a phone call from the police telling her that they found her mugger, and she said it out loud. Hearing that the mugger ran away. This was funny because the mugger was right there and he was black and the police said that they caught the white mugger.

At the police station Samantha had to pick out the mugger from a line up, but of course he was not there so it was funny. Secondly it was funny because they had a mini-me like person in the line-up too. And thirdly it was funny because Todd Samantha’s roommate and ex lover was in the lineup too. It turned out that the police mistakenly caught Todd breaking into her car with her keys. This was funny because Samantha asked Todd to pick up her car earlier so Todd was not really stealing her car. Sam now told the police that Todd was only picking her car up and they released him. Later at home Samantha apologized to Todd, and told him that earlier she had to come up with something fast and he was the first person who she thought of. Todd liked the idea that he was the first guy that she thinks of and he even asked Samantha if he is the first person who she thinks about when she wakes up each morning. Samantha denied that and Todd said funnily that “that was almost worth getting tazered for”. Now Samantha seemed like she realized that Todd might be right that she always thinks of him first, and that maybe she still has feelings for him.

As usual the episode ends with Samantha’s cute quotes. Samantha said “OK so anyway, here is how to cure racism. And I want credit for this. If everyone on earth just looks into the eyes of every other person, we will all be friends and there will be no racism. Of course the logistics will be a night mare and require exceptional organizational skills. Maybe the Chinese can do it.”.

As a ending Samantha shoves up in front of her building, where Frank the door man asked her if they were still friends and Sam replied of course they were. At this Frank tells her that he needs her to cover for him as a door man because his band has a gig tonight. By the way how surprising is it that Frank is also a musician with a guitar. Frank then putts his doorman coat on her and gives her the cab hailing whistle and asks her to hail him a cab. The surprised Samantha said OK, and hailed him cab. Personally I liked her funny expression as she was blowing the whistle to hail Frank a cab. This ending was funny because Samantha ended up as a doorman for a short period of time which is funny, and then it was her own fault for wanting to be friends. And sometimes friends are supposed to be helpful. I know that I myself can always use some help from my friends and I am sure everyone is the same way. I could actually use some help from my friends right now, maybe even from a old friend that I thought I will never see again and perhaps who has almost completely forgotten of me over the years. And maybe that old friend of mine could also use my help and advise too.

A personal observation here. Samantha with her funny personality and her cute frizzy blond hair reminds me of Tweety-bird the cartoon character. The only thing missing is Sylvester the cat showing up and then she can say “I thought I saw pudy cat!!! I did, I did see a pudy cat. Oh-oh I better get granny, that bad-ol pudy cat is up to something.”. Maybe that is what the show needs, some guy similar to Sylvester the cat getting into all kinds of mischief with Samantha. If only we knew where to find a guy like that. Perhaps that European guy I mentioned as my idea for the show last week in the “The dog . 4-2-2009” episode would make a great Sylvester for our forgetful amnesiac Tweety.

Finally, and I think this is the funniest part of this episode, the show ends with the “why can’t we be friends” song which I thought was very funny. And the song is right after all. Why can’t we be friends? Why can’t we be friends? Why can’t we be friends?……………………………..............

Thank you to the makers of Samantha who? for a another clever and funny episode. Keep cranking those funny episodes out and keeping us fans laughing. God bless us all.

And remember the truth is out there, as Fox Mulder used to say. Maybe it is online in the form of some old and forgotten photographs, or even a couple of short videos. You never know you could be looking at the truth right now and you probably would not believe it. So always keep a open mind.

Finally I will leave you with a fun riddle:

You don’t have to be rich to be my girl, you don’t have to be hip to rule my world, I just want your kiss.

Because I am Who?

If you out there know the answer to this riddle you might just be the girl for me, and the girl of my dreams.

This riddle is funny because of Samantha Who?
